Visiting this farm was part of a Viking cruise excursion. It was a snapshot of farm life, with a discussion by the owner of the changes over the years. He showed off some of his animals, and then he and 2 others switched in traditional clothes and discussed them. We finished with some beverages and deserts he had baked.
Wonderful tour of the farm and animals, followed by delicious pastries, hot chocolate, and learning about this beautiful country.
Lovely small fifth generation farm in the mountains near Bergen. Well cared for animals and buildings. The hospitality of the host and his staff were delightful! The treats served were all delicious!
FABULOUS experience here! I came in on a cruise ship and booked a private horseback ride very last-minute. The owner and staff were very accommodating, and the horse (a Norwegian fjord named Tia) was fit and ready to go. My borrowed helmet and Tia's tack were comfortable, Toné was a fabulous guide, the trail was beautiful, the ride was exhilarating and the experience was everything I was looking for. I even signed up for juice and pastries afterwards, and got to snuggle a sheep. TEN STARS WHAT A GREAT TIME. I will absolutely come here again. 🩷
We visited the farm as part of a tour. The owner was so nice, we learned a bit about Norwegian tradition and had some amazing homemade cakes, cookies and juice. We felt very welcome and even got to pet some of the friendly sheep
I can't say enough nice things about our time here. The scenery was gorgeous before you ever sit in the saddle. Once on the ride, the horses were very pleasant, the saddle was comfortable, and the ride (and the views) was spectacular. Our guide was beyond friendly and offered lots on insight into the horses and the local area. Afterwards, you have to try to cookies and local raspberry juice. A definite highlight from our trip to Bergen. Taking the bus gets you within a 6-8 minute walk to the farm (if you want to save a few bucks on the travel to the location).
We had an excellent visit to Ovre-Eide Farm where we had a baking class. Julia and our guide Marian did a great job of instructing us and helping with our preparations. They set up a table to try what we had baked along with hot chocolate. Very nice spending time with them and the traditional outfits presentation by the farm owner himself. We would recommend this tour to anyone.
It was an interesting tour of the farm , with a sharing of the history of the farm, their ponies, lamb, and challenges faced by the Norwegian farmer. We had a Norwegian dinner comprised of local produce and tarts baked by the owner. Alas! The owner is really talented as he managed the farms, baked and even played a piece by Edward Greg. Highly recommended if you are visiting Bergen (Norway)
